Your chance to help Essex rivers by collecting data for the Essex RiverWatch as a citizen scientist!
The Essex Rivers Hub is pleased to announce the official launch of the Essex RiverWatch citizen science project, an exciting new initiative aimed at monitoring and improving the health of our local rivers. This project, led by the Essex and Suffolk Rivers Trust (ESRT), invites community members to play a crucial role in collecting data about the health of our precious waterways.
To support this initiative, ESRT have unveiled dedicated web pages that provide comprehensive information about the Essex RiverWatch project. Visitors can learn about the project’s mission, the importance of river health, and the scientific methods employed in monitoring. The new pages also detail how interested individuals and groups can participate as well as offering tutorials and guidance on data collection and submission.
By involving local citizens in river monitoring, the Essex RiverWatch project aims to foster a deeper connection between the community and the environment. Volunteers will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful scientific research, gain hands-on experience, and help ensure the long-term conservation of our rivers.
We encourage anyone with a passion for rivers, nature or science to visit the project web pages and discover how they can get involved. No experience necessary! Your participation can make a significant impact on improving the health and water quality of our rivers.
